Lough Corrib is the 2nd largest fresh water lake in Ireland and contains 365 islands, of which only 10 are inhabited. Annaghdown is a rural relaxing area just 15 minutes from Galway city once the home of Saint Brendan the famous navigator and his monks.
Monastic Ruins at Annaghdown St. Brendan the Navigator founded a monastery and a convent at Annaghdown in the 6th century and it's ruins still stand on the shores of Lough Corrib.
